LLANDUDNO JCT OLD AND NEW 1984 NORTH WALES SIGNALBOXES |
|
|
|---|
| Hi,
My father was a signalman in this box for may years from the 60's to 80's .
I am modelling this box and was wondering if you know how long it was as although I had been to see my father at work lots of times I never took any notice of it's length.
Cheers

| Hi John,
I knew your father who worked in this box .. Jack??. I started in the signalling grade in 1981, think your father retired in 1983 if I'm correct. I still work on the railway as a relief based at Llandudno Junction.
The length of the old box (ex-No2) I have is as follow
88'0 x 12' x 19' elevation, this was extended from 80' in 1921. LNW tumbler frame of 154 levers (A + 1 - 153). 1 - 45 were removed out of the frame in 1968 when No1 box was closed.

| Many thanks.
I have lots more on Chester to put on this website. Took many pictures during remodelling and alterations to the layouts during resignalling.
